How fast is "next day"?
Orders placed by 2 PM on a business day are pulled from our NYC and New Jersey suppliers that afternoon and delivered the next business day in your time window. Cut-to-length steel is usually next day too. Shop-built items (headers, custom flashing) take 1–2 business days; galvanized steel takes 3–5.
Why is it faster than a local yard?
The NYC metro has the deepest stock of cold-formed steel, sheet metal and exterior systems in the Northeast, plus mills and fabricators that cut and bend the same day. We batch Capital Region orders onto our own trucks every day, so you don't wait for a distributor's weekly stock truck.
Do you charge my card online?
No. You place the order, we confirm stock, price and delivery by text within one business hour, and then send a secure pay link (or invoice approved accounts). Nothing ships until you approve.
Are the prices final?
Website prices are our current list prices, and most orders confirm at exactly that price. Steel and freight markets move. If anything changes before we confirm, we tell you first, and you can cancel at no charge.
Can you match my engineer's spec?
Yes. Order the exact SSMA designation (for example 600S162-54), coating and steel grade on your drawings. For engineered connectors and rainscreen systems, give us the brand and model and we supply exactly that. We never substitute without your OK.
Can you do the takeoff?
Yes. Upload plans and we build the material list with our own takeoff software (the same one The Dom Construction Group uses for its own bids) and price it. There's no charge when you order the material.
Can I return material?
Unopened stock items in resalable condition can be returned within 30 days (a 20% restocking fee applies, and you pay pickup freight). Cut-to-length, custom flashing, color-matched, galvanized and special-order items are made for your job and can't be returned.
Do you deliver to Vermont or Massachusetts?
Often, yes. Choose "Other" at checkout and we'll confirm the delivery price with your order.
Tax exempt?
Upload your certificate at checkout (resale ST-120, contractor exempt purchase ST-120.1, or exempt organization). We keep it on file for future orders.
Who runs this?
Albany Express Building Supply is run by The Dom Construction Group, an exterior and EIFS contractor in the Capital Region. We built it because we were tired of waiting weeks for material ourselves.
